Holding onto what is merely good can prevent you from embracing what is truly great.

I did not need to solve my whole life at once. I just needed the courage to take the next step with God.

I have learned that I cannot continuously give away pieces of who I am to appease other people. The priority has to be, first and foremost, “I am God’s child, God’s prize possession,” and I have to accept who God tells me that I am. The tunnel did not get the final word; God did, and God’s truth became the light that led me forward.

If God’s future includes a redeemed people from every nation and background standing together before His throne, then we are called to begin living that reality now.

For some, leaving Christmas decorations up into January (or after!) is a way to hold on to the joyous scenes of the season. For me, I prefer to spend the week between Christmas and New Year's slowly but surely taking down the last trace of tinsel. My household celebrates and decorates Christmas big—down to each room getting a makeover, from our vintage Christmas cottage comforter to the ice-skating Mickey & Minnie shower curtain in our daughter's bathroom. Simplifying and cle
