For a long time now, I have felt called to make this blog a place you can come to daily to be encouraged and grow.  Finally, it’s here!  This month, you will meet other Dented Fenders who have allowed God to show up in the midst of their circumstances to boldly shine.  They are passionate, talented folks who are chasing after Jesus in their lives!  I know you and I both will learn a lot from them.  AS ALWAYS, this blog is for YOU!  Please reach out to me directly with any feedback you may have at  I would love to hear from you!

In 2017, Jenny unexpectedly lost her husband of 28 years.  In the aftermath, Jenny and her 3 grown kids, daughter-in-law and granddaughter have sought ways to find joy in the everyday miracles that make up this life.  With a deepened faith, she tackles her challenges in an honest way that you will connect to and find inspiring no matter what your personal story is.

Jenny serves at the United Methodist Church in Iowa. As a pastor and youth director, she is passionate about walking with youth, young adults, and people of all ages as they journey forward in their faith. She believes in creating authentic relationships, and when she’s not serving in ministry or outside enjoying nature, she loves to sit by the fire with a book and a journal, or to cuddle with her pups.

You can read more about Jenny Seylar and her ministry at  Or visit her blog, “Journey From Despair to Hope.” Look for Jenny’s first blog tomorrow!
